Clint has a passion for teaching and a strong desire to help others. Clint enjoys educating the families and individuals we work with about the financial industry and how to apply data and analytics to make decisions related to retirement planning. Clint holds his BA, MA, and PhD from the University of Iowa and has taught at the University of Iowa and Simpson College. He has published several articles on sports business and leadership.
Clint’s personal experience has also positioned him to help families work through the uncertainty they may feel about their next stage of life. Clint lost his wife Abby, who also worked at Merkle Retirement Planning, to breast cancer in 2021.
Clint has his life, health, and accident Iowa insurance licenses and holds his Series 65 securities license.
Clint and his two boys, Nash and Eli, enjoy hunting, fishing, boating, and biking together. Clint grew up on a farm outside of Collins, Iowa. He says baling hay, caring for livestock, and working the fields taught him a strong work ethic and to live by the mantra, “Don’t quit until the job is done.”
