Jeremy Lyons has a desire to help others – whether building retirement plans, volunteering, or helping kids with art therapy.
He joined Merkle Retirement Planning in the summer of 2023 and said the team’s collaboration, camaraderie, and experience drew him in.
Jeremy loves being able to help individuals and families build retirement plans using a proven process while working with a skilled team. He has worked in the financial industry for more than 15 years and says Merkle Retirement Planning’s thoughtful and comprehensive approach to addressing each area of retirement stands out in the industry.
Jeremy has his life, health, and accident Iowa insurance licenses and holds his Series 63 and 65 securities licenses. Jeremy is a National Social Security Advisor certificate holder. He has worked at Ameriprise Financial and was also the owner of J. Lyons Capital.
Jeremy is a Wisconsin native and three-time high school state golf champion. After playing at Iowa State University, he spent three years playing professional golf.
Jeremy’s hobbies include Hickory Golf, a niche sport in which golfers play with wooden clubs made prior to 1935 when steel shafts became the norm. Jeremy was a long-time Ames Morning Rotary club member, serving as president in 2020.
Jeremy and his wife, Elizabeth, who runs an art studio in Polk City, have two school-age children, Lydia and Adam. The family fosters animals for the Animal Rescue League. They often have kittens, puppies, chicks, ducks, and even the occasional hedgehog staying at their house. Jeremy is also an avid mushroom hunter.
