Client Experience Specialist
Sheila has an infectious enthusiasm and an upbeat approach to everything she does. As a Client Experience Specialist, Sheila plans engaging events for the families and individuals we serve. Whether coordinating a tour of the Iowa State Capitol, a day trip to Ames, a happy hour event, or a volunteer day at the Food Bank of Iowa, Sheila ensures that we offer opportunities for those we serve to socialize, learn, and grow. She also plans exclusive events for members of The League, a thank-you program for those who refer a friend to Merkle Retirement Planning.
Before joining the team, Sheila spent nearly 20 years working for the Diocese of Des Moines at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and St. Theresa Catholic Church.
In her free time, Sheila enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and watching sports. She has fond memories of trips to Florida, Ireland, and Italy. She has been happily married to her husband, Tom, for over 30 years. They have three adult children, Tyler, Emma, and Maura, and one grandson, Oliver. Sheila grew up in Algona and is the youngest of 12.
