Client Servicing Specialist
Sophia helps create a welcoming, responsive, and personalized experience for the families and individuals we serve. She plays an important role in supporting the retirement planning process by answering questions, coordinating service requests, and helping ensure every detail is handled with care and attention.
Sophia’s career has spanned both the financial services and hospitality industries, giving her a unique combination of financial knowledge and customer service expertise. Prior to joining Merkle Retirement Planning, she supported retirement planners and financial professionals in a variety of service and operations roles, gaining valuable experience helping individuals navigate important financial decisions. She also spent several years in restaurant management and customer-facing leadership positions, where she developed a strong commitment to serving others and creating exceptional experiences.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Iowa State University and has been an active member of Toastmasters International for more than a decade, earning the Competent Communicator designation and competing in both area and division speaking contests.
Outside of work, Sophia enjoys exploring new restaurants, attending concerts, spending time with friends, traveling, and cheering on the Detroit Lions. She is also passionate about giving back to the community and volunteers with the Des Moines Arts Festival, helping coordinate food vendors and event operations.
