Sydney creates a welcoming experience for everyone who visits or interacts with Merkle Retirement Planning. From greeting guests and coordinating visits to supporting events and assisting with day-to-day communication, she helps ensure every interaction feels organized, professional, and personal. Her attention to detail, positive attitude, and heart for hospitality help make every person who walks through the door feel welcomed and valued.
Sydney was drawn to Merkle Retirement Planning because of its culture and commitment to excellence. What she enjoys most is getting to know the families and individuals who visit the office and helping every interaction leave a positive impression.
Before joining Merkle Retirement Planning, Sydney served as an Operations Manager at the Iowa Events Center, where she coordinated the setup, execution, and teardown of events ranging from small business meetings to sold-out concerts and shows. Working in a fast-paced environment taught her to stay adaptable, organized, and focused on creating exceptional experiences—skills she brings to her role every day.
A lifelong Iowan, Sydney grew up in Pleasant Hill, where she still lives today. She attended Indian Hills Community College, where she played softball, before earning her bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Sports Management from Missouri Western State University, where she competed in track.
Outside of work, Sydney enjoys spending time outdoors, whether she’s going for a walk, going for a run, or attending concerts. She also loves thrifting, exploring antique stores, and taking on creative projects. One of her favorite adventures was traveling to the Netherlands to visit a friend she met in college, and she hopes to plan another trip to Europe soon.
